Writing for Pleasure @ Joyce
Writing for Pleasure Group - Joyce James - Alternate Tuesday 2.00 At Joyce's house
Words’ and the writing groups have a lot in common - the emphasis is different. So, if you are waiting for a vacancy in ‘Words’ why not try one of the creative writing groups?
It won’t stop you joining ‘Words’ when the time comes, but you never know, you may turn out to be the next JK Rowling!
Practice makes perfect! The best way to improve writing is to write. So we practice, even if we don't achieve perfection! Group meetings start with members sharing the item they have written at home and discussing them. Adverse criticism is NOT allowed, helpful comment is encouraged. By half time everyone has had enough of this, so while the kettle boils for a cuppa the writers have some fun with a word game or an exercise. The results are shared and discussed and finally next time's work for home is set and explained. Creative work from home is kept short and group numbers kept low to allow time for everyone to contribute. There is room in both groups, however. for some new recruits. Anyone interested is welcome to come alomng for a couple of times before deciding whether or not to join.
Both these groups continue throughout December
