Convenors/Group Leaders
HANDBOOK FOR CONVENORS/GROUP LEADERS
The Handbook provides advice and support to Convenors/Group Leaders in running their groups within Bridgend u3a.
A - Interest Groups Governance
We appreciate that all Group Leaders are volunteers, and it is our aim to keep any requirements to a minimum. Nevertheless, as a charity, affiliated to the Third Age Trust (TAT), we must ensure:
• compliance with our charitable object
• adherence to the principles of the u3a movement
• compliance with legal and financial procedures, and
• the health and safety of our members while participating in our interest groups and activities.

Providing Group Information
Providing clear, up-to-date information about your groups makes good sense. It keeps your existing members fully informed and also promotes our varied activities programme to potential new members, ensuring the continued growth of Bridgend U3A into the future.
The internet is THE most efficient and cost-effective way to achieve that. We have this Website and Social Media (Facebook) for this purpose.
Website Updates
We hope that all convenors will update their own Group Page on the Website. You can get a Web Editor Account to do this and it’s really quite straightforward. However, the IT team can always assist. Click Website Manager (Diane) to get your Web Editor Account.
Other ways to update your Group Page
If you are unable to work with the Website yourself for whatever reason, the IT team can update your Group Page for you and promote events on Facebook. Just send a message saying what you need to change or promote and we will update accordingly.
Please allow a few days for updates.
