Architecture and Landscape
What this Group does - Each session is self-contained and covers an area of broad architectural or landscape interest - for example local buildings, famous architects, historic landscapes. In any one session, we always aim to learn and see something new and interesting. A typical session will have 35 minutes well-illustrated presentation and 20 minutes group discussion.
Summer Term 2020 - Programme
Regrettably, and until further notice, the Architecture and Landscape Special Interest Group is unable to meet physically due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
When we resume, we will include this talk which is left over from the Spring 2020 programme:
Buildings in and around Abergavenny: A tour of selected buildings and their settings in and around the market town of Abergavenny in Monmouthshire. Together these interesting places form a easy one-day road trip from Brecon with good stop-offs. We visit Abergavenny Town with St Mary's Priory Church and Usk Bridge, Clytha Castle, Llanover House and find gems inside Llanfair Kilgeddin and Bettws Newydd Churches. The gardens, parks and grounds will also be described in this back-to-back presentation with the Gardening SIG.
