Looking at old buildings
This group meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 2.00 pm at the Bradford Club. The purpose of the group is to look at historical buildings, mainly local, in the context of their architecture and history. In general our approach to the study of the buildings is focused on the three Fs - Form, Fabric and Function - but for many buildings their social and economic context adds significantly to our understanding. The types of buildings visited are varied including ecclesiastical, municipal and civic, industrial and domestic and of historical interest. The group has valuable input from a knowledgeable enthusiast but group members contribute to the meetings and make arrangements for visits to suitable sites.
New members are welcome.
There is a charge of £2 per session for the room hire.
