Monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday in the month at the Bradford Club. We provide refreshments from 10.00 a.m. and this is followed by a talk from 10.30 - 12.00. It is a good opportunity to meet up with other members and have time for conversation before and after the meeting. There is an entrance fee of £1.50 (£2.00 for non members making a visit before joining). Coffee/tea is available for £1.
The speakers cover a wide range of topics and are both informative and entertaining.
Some members stay behind after the talk for a light lunch at the club.
If you are thinking about joining the Bradford U3A you are most welcome to join us at a meeting to find out more but you must let us know in advance via the CONTACT page because seats are limited and there is a booking system for members.
We have an annual Christmas dinner in the centre of Bradford.
In the past we have had short holidays with visits to historic houses, gardens and cathedrals with talks/tours provided.We have also had mini breakss to Liverpool, Glasgow and Cambridge. and Further mini breaks can be organised if members are interested.
Regular day visits have included a range of curator talks at local museums and art galleries and, guided tours of other places of interest. We have an annual coach trip to a historic house.
There are two monthly lunch groups with outings on Tuesday and Wednesday which visit different local restaurants in the Bradford and Ilkley area.
Theatre outings are monthly and include visits to the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds, the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester or occasionally to other venues.
A small group of members regularly attend the Arts on screen events at the Media Museum - opera, National Theatre,RSC,Exhibitions on screen.
The Third Age Trust National Office provide a range of Study Days and Summer Schools across the country. our regional U3A (Yorkshire and Humberside) also provides study days and other events.
The recently formed Westnet ( Bradford, Keighley, Craven, Ilkley and Settle U3As)is now organising a range of events for all Westnet members.
