Interest Groups

Some Groups are meeting via Zoom (Posted 25/11/2020)
Although our groups are not able to meet in person at the moment some of our groups are meeting online via Zoom. The following groups are using the u3a Brackley Zoom Licence:

If any other groups would like to avail themselves of uninterrupted Zoom meetings please get in touch with Ian by email (groupcoord.brackleyu3a@gmail.com).
The groups meeting via Zoom currently are indicated with a 'Z' in the table below.

Hopefully you are all well and keeping in touch with at least one other member of U3A. (if not, please let me know)
U3A Head Office are still advising no resumption of meetings indoors due to our age group.
Outdoor meetings of 6 can take place after a risk assessment has been carried out and sent to the committee for approval.

Looking on the positive side, we have a few vacancies for Group Convenors. The Groups are Walking, Science & Technology, Theatre and Sunday Outings.
We already have volunteers to start up new Groups for Cinema, Victorian Literature and Beginners Spanish.
Please contact me if you are interested, so that plans can be put in place for when we resume activities.

Coronavirus (Posted 17/03/2020)
In view of the recommendations from the Government the Committee has decided to cancel all Group Meetings until further notice. This supersedes any information in the Calendar, Group and Events webpages.

You can join as many interest groups as you find time for!
Each Group is self-sufficient and independent and if costs are involved in renting rooms then those members pay a small amount each to cover the costs.

In the Group List below click on the Group Name to go to a separate page for that Group, where you can click on the icon in the top right corner to Send a Message to the Leader (Convenor) of that Group.

New groups are shown with a "N" . Groups which cannot accept new members at present but have a waiting list are shown with a "W".

If there are other topics not covered, why not start your own group? There is help available to get you going. If you would like to run a Group or make suggestions about existing or new Groups, Ian Nixon, our Groups Co-ordinator will be pleased to hear from you. In addition to the regular activities listed here you will also find (on our Group pages), groups which have meetings arranged in a more ad-hoc manner.

Please note that due to a quirk of Google Calendar mishandling daylight saving time changes within the display of embedded calendar some users get incorrect times until after the clocks change. Consequently the embedded calendar has been suspended for the time being. As an alternative click on Brackley U3A Calendar and choose the Agenda tab to get an equivalent display of the Calendar of Activities
