Poem No.8

Nature

by

Pam Clifford

A walking friend spoke well of 'Wilding'"
An inspirational book, so she said
So, I bought it along with a thriller
Put it to one side to be read.

There were outings and meetings and all sorts
There was housework and shopping in town
Meeting with friends and with family
Then the day when we had to lockdown

Now each day as I sit in my garden
And read a bit more of the book
And learn how they changed the whole concept
At their farm and the steps that they took

In the sunshine I listen to birdsong
As I sit amid flowers and trees
The colourful blooms in the borders
Honeysuckle scent on the breeze

The buzzing of bees is so soothing
As they visit the bright gillie flowers
Peacock and orange tip butterflies too
I could sit here for hours and hours
