The 1st Tuesday morning of the month

All talks at Thurlby Church Hall with doors open at 9.30am. Unless notified otherwise

You can see our programme by clicking on PROGRAMME on the right

This is a Group without permanent Members – if you belong to U3A, then you are welcome to attend our meetings.

One does not have to be an expert in anything – just have an interest for which you could afford no time whilst in full-time employment.

Many of our Speakers/ Visits interest men and women alike – give us a try.

Meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month St. Firmin’s Church Hall, Thurlby from 10.00 a.m. till Noon.
(Coffee, Tea and Biscuits are provided on arrival from 09.30hrs).

Hi Everybody,
This is the usual reminder that we are meeting next Tuesday, 4th June at St Firmin’s Church Hall, Thurlby, PE10 0EH. Refreshments will be available from 09.30 and the talk will start at 10.00.
Jim Winstone will be talking about ‘The Making of the English Landscape’ which sounds very interesting. Having just returned from walking part of the South West Coastal Path, I’m hoping he will explain the Moho. Apparently, you can see the boundary between the Earth’s crust and mantle at Coverack Beach, but I don’t think I understood the explanation board. No pressure, Jim!
Eric tells me that our finances are very sound so the meeting charge will only be £1.00 – a bargain!
Those of you who were at the AGM will know that I have been roped in to be Chairman of Bourne U3A. This is likely to reduce the time and energy I have for Science and Technology so I would be very happy to hear from anybody interested in either taking on the Group Leader’s role or helping out – possibly by arranging a speaker or visit. If you are interested, please give me a ring on 01778 426483.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible next Tuesday.
Regards,
Malcolm
