We are very pleased to welcome you to the Boston & District u3a web site.

As you may already know, u3a's are found world wide including here in the United Kingdom.

We are one of over 1000 u3as spread across the United Kingdom, each affiliated to the Third Age Trust. Members share their knowledge and experience and participate in a wide range of educational, social and leisure activities. Join us, make new friends and share teaching / learning experiences. No qualifications are required. You can learn new skills and meet other like minded persons. We are sure you will find something of interest. The u3a draws on the wealth of knowledge and experience of its members many of whom run groups.

Boston & District u3a was set up in September 1992. We have over 200 members and rising with many active groups

General meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at

Meetings start at 10:00 for 10:30. Proceedings begin with our administrative business followed by a guest speaker. They give very interesting talks, covering a range of topics and most importantly, members meet and chat to their fellow members.

Members receive an online magazine each month containing reports about group activities, announcements about future events and other news of interest. Members can ask to have 12 monthly copies of the magazine “Newsline” printed and posted to them for an additional cost of £13.80 to cover postage

"Boston & District u3a" has a Facebook page which members can request to join which is regularly updated

If you decide to join the fee is £18.00. for the year. The financial year begins on the 1st August however you can join at anytime.

Third Age Matters(TAM) Members are able to subscribe to the national U3A magazine which contains useful and interesting information regarding the activities of other u3as, national events, book reviews and online courses.
The annual subscription for TAM is £3.60 for 5 issues per year.

GIFT AID The benefit to Charities is well known and worth £4.50 to us for each UK taxpayer who gives authority. This is a valuable contribution to our running costs and enables us to keep the subscription at its current level of £18.00 per person.
If appropriate, please sign the box on the application form.

If you decide to attend a monthly meeting you will be greeted at the door and someone will show you round and help you discover the groups and events we have on offer. This introductory meeting does not commit you to joining. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst browsing the literature on display and chatting to people asking questions etc.
