Steam

THIS GROUP HAS NOW MERGED WITH THE HISTORY GROUP

The STEAM group (Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine) is a small friendly group which explores the design, manufacture and use of anything technical. As we have members with a medical background, we also look at topics such as human biology, diseases and medical procedures.

Meetings are held at 9.30am on the second Monday of each month in the WMCC Jubilee lounge where talks are given by group members or external speakers.

During the summer, visits are organised to local places of interest.

Examples of recent trips include a trip to a member’s farm to see how modern agricultural machinery is used, a visit to the Museum of Power and a trip to London to explore HMS Belfast.

Joint Co-ordinators, Peter Holmes and Dennis Eraut
