CABLE CAR TRIP
We started off in beautiful sunshine at 10am on Thursday 27th September
We arrived early for Lunch so our kind driver decided to give us an extra trip around Snaresbrook.
Then we met our Blue Badge Guide (Stephen), who organised the Carver at The Eagle Toby Inn. After Lunch we headed over to the Cable Car for our first ride over the Thames. As we arrived it looked extremely high, but once we were up there we could see for miles either side. We were higher than the O2 and could see people preparing to walk over the Dome, (of course harnessed to the side ropes).
Once that was over we headed to London over Tower Bridge, Aldwych, Westminster Bridge, then onto the Olympic Stadium, our guide was very knowledgeable about London and told us many things about which Olympic buildings was staying and which was being demolished or moved.
We finally arrived at the Westfield Shopping Centre where our guide took us all to the lookout platform in John Lewis so we could all see the Olympic Park from another angle, with Binocular if we so wished.
We then had time for a cup of Coffee and a short walk around the Westfield where we met up with the guide again and proceeded to the evening Cable Car trip.
The weather had been bright and sunny all day but as we approached the Cable Car it started to cloudy over and when we proceeded to take the Car over the Thames it started to rain, but as we looked over the O2 we could see the sun setting behind it, it was a really lovely sight.
Luck was with us that day because as the last of our group enlighten from the Cable Car, it broke down and the people, waiting were told they had a wait of approx 20 mins before they could get it going again. (We did not wait to see how long the people were left in the Air).
We arrived back at Stortford approx 7.30 where everyone agreed that it had been a very good day, we thanked the Driver for giving us a most pleasant drive and all went on our way home.
