For many people, retirement does take some getting used to.
Leaving a community of work colleagues and losing the structure of a working week can be disorientating.
Bishop’s Stortford u3a is a charity which started in 1985,
and is for local people who want to
learn, laugh and live!
It provides opportunities to meet other like-minded people through
educational, social, recreational and creative activities.

It is run entirely by its members, for its members.
There are about 700 of us and 50+ member-led interest groups,
which can be accessed from Groups at the top of this page.
You can try new activities, whilst having fun in the company of both old and new friends.
Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month,
at Bishop's Stortford Methodist Church, 34B South Street, CM23 3AZ, from 1:45pm.

Our u3a in a nutshell
- Self-help education, creativity and leisure activities
- Social events, holidays and day trips
- No exams, no accreditation, just pleasure
- 50+ subject groups (antiques & collectables to walking groups).
- Monthly talks at the Methodist Church
- Over 700 members
- The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March
- £15.00 annual membership fee (discount applies October - March)
