WHERE: | Bishop Auckland Methodist Church |
WHEN: | 2nd Friday of the month 10.15 for 10.30 |
The Local History Group is probably the longest serving interest group within our u3a. We have maintained over 85 members in recent years. We meet on the second Friday of the month at 10.15 am for 10.30 am at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church.
We follow a programme of eight lectures when the broad focus is local history. During the summer we organise outings instead of lectures. Some of these are local but coaches are provided for longer trips. Normally the September day visit involves a Heritage Open Day opportunity.
As of September 2021, with the lifting of Covid restrictions, meetings resumed at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church. The programme to the end of the year can be seen in the link 'Speaker and Event Schedule 2021' and 2022 schedule to date can also be found there.
