#Fantastic questionnaire response from over 97% of our membership. Responses are now being analysed and the 2022 plan will be announced in October.
Group meeting set up for Monday, 11th October at 1.30 pm until 3 pm* at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church, 21 Cockton Hill Rd, Bishop Auckland DL14 6EN to share results and agree the 2022 plan. Tea/coffee will be available beforehand for a small fee. Please let Pam know if you will be attending as the Church needs a rough idea of numbers.
- All morning slots are already booked.
Carolyn is taking a well-deserved year off and I shall be the Temporary Leader of this group during that time. It has been a strange 2 years with Covid and seems to be a very long time since we enjoyed a garden visit. Now that restrictions are easing and vaccinations are available we can plan a programme for 2022. There are a number of options related to how we move forward and lots of possible places to go. This is your group and I would like your input please to help put a plan together. A questionnaire will be available for all current and new/prospective group members via Carolyn on the Garden Visits table at the Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, 17th August. If you cannot attend the meeting then please contact me via the 'little bird' link above and I shall send you one via email or post, whichever you prefer.
I am asking for responses by 9th September so that I can collate and analyse them and, based on your responses, put together a complete plan for 2022. The next step will be a group meeting in October so that I can share those responses and the proposed plan to get your agreement before going ahead with it. The date and venue will be advised at the September Town Hall meeting but will also appear here and on the Events and calendar pages.
After the last 2 years planning for 2022 might seem a bold move but let's be positive and have plenty to look forward to. If there is another Covid surge and the Government introduces restrictions again then, of course, we shall abide by them.
Visits to gardens of interest are arranged and may involve travel by coach. Costs vary depending upon the venue and travel distance. Places we have been in the last couple of years include the Spring Flower Show in Harrogate, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden near Ripon, and Breezy Knees near York. The time at the venue can be used as individual members desire. Refreshments are available at own cost.
The visits are fairly frequent during the spring and summer and ideas from members are always welcome. More details can be found on the Garden Visits side table at the monthly meeting. New members are very welcome.
During Covid restrictions it has not been possible for this group to meet or to go on trips.
