Birkdale & Ainsdale

Events

The events below are organised by the Birkdale and Ainsdale U3A. They are open to all members but guests may be invited on certain occasions.

Meetings, which include talks by outside speakers, are held regularly at St. Peter's Church Hall, St. Peter's Road, Birkdale. There is street parking available and the 49, 15A and X2 buses stop nearby, close to the railway station.

The talks begin at 2pm (the hall will be open from 1.45 p.m.) and there is a charge of £2 and a raffle. (The raffle helps to fund social events such as a Christmas Celebration).

Planned outings are listed below.

If you have any ideas for events whether they are social or educational please contact any member of the committee.

Outings
Mon Aug 26th WALKING GROUP

We will catch the 9.58 train from Southport alighting at Ainsdale and we will meet in the booking Hall on the Southport bound platform.

The walk will be through the pine woods to Freshfield (people can leave here if they have had enough) and on to Formby for the rest of us via Fishermen's Path and the beach.

We can use the comfort facilities on Ainsdale Station but we will not stop for a refreshment break as we are so near home.

At the end of the walk we can go in to Formby Village and have a comfort and refreshment stop before catching the train or bus home.
Wed Oct 16th EMPIRE THEATRE, LIVERPOOL

We will be watching Les Miserables from the front stalls.

Tickets cost £54 and all 24 we have been able to obtain have been sold. However if enough interest is shown we will try and get more so if you want to go please contact Fraser on 576684 a.s.a.p.
