Mah Jong for Beginners

MAH JONG FOR BEGINNERS

So you may have heard about Mah Jong, or have played it in the past, or play the online version – but what is it?
Well Mah Jong is an ancient Chinese game played using 144 tiles.

Like playing cards there are many different games you can play using these tiles but the one that we play is called the Four Winds. There is no doubt that it can be difficult and challenging to learn but once mastered it is so rewarding and fun to play.

The Mah Jong for Beginners meets on Friday mornings between 10-12.30pm upstairs in the Municipal Hall in Biggar, when experienced players will teach and guide you through the sometimes confusing rules and traditions of this game.

We are a small but friendly group who are happy to welcome new members and pass on our knowledge and love of the game. So now is your chance to learn or revise your skills, so why not come along and give it a try?

Contact the Facilitator Jean Henderson on 01899 220930, e-mail jean henderson506@btinternet.com or just come along on Friday morning.
