This is for people who already have a grounding in Italian and who wish to broaden their knowledge and become more fluent in the language. We use all four language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) covering important grammar structures with the focus on language usage rather than abstract concepts.
We use a wide range of media including books, CDs, Italian films, guest speakers and video conferencing with Italian friends.
The aim of the group is to improve our language skills and our knowledge of Italian culture all within a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Currently we are using ‘Crescendo’, an educational book specifically aimed at Italian Intermediate level and are also reading a contemporary novel entitled ‘Nel mare ci sono i coccodrilli’. This is a true story of the journey of Enaiatollah Akbari from Afghanistan to Italy and is translated into Italian by Fabio Geda.
The Group meets on Wednesdays at Lund House
From 1.15 to 2.45
The group leaders are:- Karen Meech tel 01260 270669.
