In order to comply with legislation, and with the risk assessment process carried out by both the u3a and Memorial Hall, the following will apply:

  • We will only have 150 seats within Memorial Hall (including members of the committee), and we will have to turn anyone away when we have reached this number.
  • Don't arrive before 1.30 pm.
  • You need to have a face covering and to sanitise your hands.
  • We will not be able to have refreshments for the time being and there will be no raffle or notice boards.
  • Only four individuals are allowed in the foyer at any one time.
  • After passing through the foyer, go straight to your seat.

We know you will understand the need for these processes, in order to ensure your safety; if circumstances change we will send out further details.

The schedule for the autumn is:

  • December - No meeting


The monthly coffee morning on Zoom is flourishing with people chatting to some members they have not met before. Everyone enjoys the event which happens every 1st Friday morning of the month. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we can actually meet in person due to safety measures at the Lairgate Hotel for Covid therefore we intend to carry on with the coffee mornings until we are allowed to meet up together. You will have to provide your own tea/coffee and cake/biscuits, but you will be guaranteed a good chat. Next meetings will be:

  • Friday 5th November 2021 11.00 am to 12.00 noon


This meal has been rearranged for 31st March 2022, 12.30 for 1.00pm. choice of menu at a cost of £28.50p per head. The meal is subsidised by your u3a. Members who booked for 2020 have been sent the information as they have already paid for their meals. If you would like to join us for this meal, there is still room. A chance to meet other members and your committee, and enjoy a great meal. We hope to have a speaker at the event.
