During September and October the geology group will take advantage of the freedom to meet out of doors in small groups, to visit two different beaches in Berwick, both examples of geologically interesting sites but with different rock types and features.
From mid-September until December there will be fortnightly Zoom sessions lasting about an hour each, exploring how geology affects landscapes, with examples from Spitsbergen, Northern Ireland, NW Scotland as well as Berwickshire. Members of local U3As are welcome, whatever the level of knowledge of geology.
During the summer, several members of the group used their solitary exercise time to try out some recently produced leaflets of the geology along the local coastline. The leaflets are now available online at www.berwickshirerocks.org.uk
