Play reading 1
Venue: home-based at members' homes
We meet (from September to June) for about 2 hours at 5pm on the second Monday; of each month; being home-based, the maximum number of members is limited. We take turns to host the sessions, choose the plays (almost always chosen from the Active Northumberland list, via the library, at a nominal cost) and allocate the parts, ensuring that copies are available in time for members to familiarise themselves with their parts.
In true theatrical tradition, we have an interval for refreshments, which the member hosting provides. Depending on the length (and depth!) of the drama chosen, background to and/or discussion of the play is included in the session (a particularly lengthy/deep drama may be read over two sessions).
