Unfortunately, it looks very unlikely at the minute that the U3A Singers will be able to meet again any time soon. I'm sure we all miss singing, but due to restrictions with the venue, current lockdown measures, and the simple fact that it's singing, it's just not possible. My experience with Zoom doesn't lead me to think that that's a suitable medium for our group. I know it works for some groups and situations, but I think that we would have a lot of problems singing together!! It's sad as we've been a healthy group for quite a number of years.
The following is historic, & left for background info only:
This group meets at St Andrews Wallace Green Church
The group sings a wide range of music including – songs from shows; folk songs; rounds; songs with a descant; mix ‘n’ match – eg ‘Go tell it on the mountain’ with ‘He’s got the whole world in His hands’.
This group is really all about singing for fun and pleasure rather than performance, and everyone is welcome. We do however enjoy singing to others and visited Tweed View Care Home and Tweedmouth House last session as well as participating in a concert commemorating the ending of WW1.
