201807 - Norwich

Monday 16 July 2018
Norwich has a good number of attractions including Norwich Cathedral, a 900-year old Norman cathedral church, Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, Dragon Hall a restored trading hall from medieval era and several medieval churches.

It is also the birthplace (Swardeston on the outskirts of Norwich) and resting place (Cathedral) of Edith Cavell, the British Nurse executed by the enemy in World War 1, for protecting and assisting her countrymen during the conflict. On the trip our Women in History Group explored the memorials for her.

Our thanks to Bob Munson and Maria and Mick Kelly for the photos.
