Why not join one of Belfast U3A’s 57 interest groups? Not only will you have the chance to share learning experiences in a wide range of topics and activities but you will also have the opportunity to make new friends and have fun. Our motto is

Learn, Laugh and Live!

We are Belfast U3A, a learning organisation which enables members to share many educational, creative and leisure activities. We, and the other local U3A groups within Northern Ireland, are part of the wider community of the U3A movement in the United Kingdom, known as the Third Age Trust. To find out more about the history of Belfast U3A, click on the Our History link at the right hand side of the page.

Belfast U3A has over 700 members, with more than 57 interest groups covering a wide range of topics and activities. The groups are run by the members for the members. Click on the Groups tab above to find out about the interests and activities available.

In normal times, we have a meeting open to all members at the Balmoral Hotel, Dunmurry, on the last Thursday of every month at 11:00 a.m. The meetings give us the opportunity to meet up with other members, have tea/coffee and learn about and sign up for forthcoming events. Each month we invite a different speaker to the meeting to talk on a diverse and interesting range of topics. The Committee also organises other social events throughout the year. Click on the Events tab above for details of events planned for future months.

Ivan Little, the Belfast Telegraph reporter, wrote an article extolling the praises of the Northern Ireland U3A in general and Belfast U3A in particular and giving details about our activities. To see his article, please click here: Ivan Little commentary
