Bridge is the most popular card game in the world! It can be played at many levels... ranging from a social foursome, right up to local, national and international competitions. At whatever level you play, you are guaranteed to exercise your mind and meet a new network of friends!
In September 2018 we started a course of Bridge Lessons for Improvers. The formal lessons ended last week (19th March 2019). However, we have decided to continue the course with a series of 10 supervised play sessions, starting on Tuesday 26th March 2019, to provide members of the group with the opportunity to put the new theory they have learnt into practice. We may have room in the group to accommodate other U3A members who did not take the Improvers' Course. If you are interested, please contact the convenor for more information.
Venue: St. Anne's Hall, beside St. Anne's Church, Kingsway near Dunmurry
Dates: Tuesdays (26th March to 16th April - restarting after Easter break on 21st May to 25th June)
Time: 12.00 noon to 2.00pm
We plan to start a new Course for Beginners in September 2019. This will be principally aimed at those who have never played the game before, but might also be suitable for people who perhaps have had a break from bridge and want to brush up on their basic bridge skills. Each lesson will consist of 1 hour of theory followed by 1 hour of supervised practice play. By the end of the course, members should be able to play social bridge and also "gentle" duplicate bridge for novices in the local clubs.
More details will be provided here on the website in August. Places on the course may have to be limited. Please contact the convenor for more information or if you simply wish to express an interest
