Members are usually cryptic crossword solvers but we like to tackle all sorts of codes and puzzles.
A typical meeting would find members working in groups of t.hree or four. We each bring two cryptic crossword clues with us for our teams to solve.
We have homework every month in which we have to construct our own clues for five given words.
We then tackle a variety of puzzles which could include:
- Number Quizzes
- Only Connect panels
- Dingbats
- Anagrams
- Countdown
- Zygolex
- Middleman
- Any exercise where the answer is not obvious from the clue
We have submitted the occasional crossword and puzzle to the Bulletin.
You could be forgiven for thinking that you need to be intelligent in order to be a member. But you just need a devious mind and an ability to laugh and share your skills with others.
