You need to be a member of Bedford U3A to join this group
Group Leader: | Val Hemmings - see Bulletin for telephone number |
Time: | 14.00-16.00 hours on the first Tuesday of the month |
Venue/Location: | St Marks Church Community Centre, Calder Rise, Brickhill, Bedford |
Vacancies: | New members welcome |
During the lockdown we have set up a closed group on Facebook and our photos are put on it.
Aim: To widen our knowledge of photography. Experienced photographers and beginners are welcome.
Objectives:
• To improve photographs taken
• To understand composition eg aperture, shutter speed and ISO
• To become competent using own camera eg auto/manual settings - depth of field, shutter speed
• To develop editing skills eg cropping and straightening photographs
Meetings:
These are overseen by a photographic enthusiast with the group leader handling the administration.
Each month the group chooses a topic and each member submits up to three photographs which are discussed. This includes various considerations, technical skills and interpretation. The group then chooses six photographs which are displayed on photography group 3’s web page. See the links for the pages of photos.
At least once a year a local venue is selected where the group meets and photographs are taken. Group members then select three of their photographs for discussion and selection for photography group 3’s web page. A photography marathon could also be included.
