You need to be a member of Bedford U3A to join this group
|Group Leader:||Alan Wooding - see Bulletin for telephone number|
|Time:||Every Thursday starting at 10.30am|
|Venue/Location:||Outside, see below|
|Vacancies:||New members welcome but please contact Alan before coming along on a walk.|
It appears that we are permitted to restart our u3a Short Walks programme once again as long as we stick to the Government’s’Rule of Six’ - and we really must adhere to it with proper social distancing otherwise we could be in trouble. Regarding our usual refreshment breaks following the walks, it will be a ‘Bring along a Flask’ situation.

Restarting Walks Guidance from the Ramblers Association
The UK government’s new detailed guidance, published on Tuesday, makes it clear that organised outdoor sport and physical activity, including organised walks, will be exempt from gathering limits. This clarity means we don’t need to wait until 12 April to get activities up and running again – we already have all the necessary guidance in place.
All volunteer activities must be organised in a Covid-secure way, following our updated guidance and FAQs. Travel should be minimised as much as possible – and car-sharing and coach trips remain off limits for now. We should also try to avoid busy, popular areas – please consider the impact on local communities in your planning.
When organising activities, please limit group size to a number you and your volunteers feel comfortable with and which makes physical distancing possible. You might even decide it’s not the right time for you to restart yet and that’s completely fine.
