The Miniatures Group currently consists of seven ladies and two blokes who spend a couple of hours together once a month in order to construct a project to show at our AGM. We choose a new project every year and attempt to make a one twelfth (12” to the foot) scale representation of some interesting event or anniversary.
We never buy anything; everything is handmade by us from a huge assortment of materials. We never throw anything away without first considering whether we could use it as something else in an upcoming scene.
The only restriction on what we can make is the limit of our imagination and the more movement and colour we can create the better.
The whole idea is to have fun being creative; we are not professionals and mostly learn as we go along. There are some experienced craft members in our group but we all muck in together and help each other.
Anybody with an interest in what we are doing is welcome to contact us; no special talent is required just enthusiasm and a sense of humour.
