Share a Walk in Great Barford

Great Barford Walk (April 9).

This walk was into farmland towards the bypass at the north side of the village.

The sun was shining, the blossom was coming into glorious flower and skylarks gave a wonderful overhead chorus. Particular highlights for me were seeing my first Grey Partridge of the year, to which I had been alerted by their somewhat discordant calls (rather Pheasant-like), and also seeing my first of both Orange Tip and Green-veined White butterflies. Also seen were plenty of Peacock butterflies, a few Brimstone butterflies and a couple of Yellowhammer.
