Thu May 23rdWALKSJERVAULX AND THORNTON STEWARD. A longer walk this week of 7 miles with Sally B starting from Jervaulx tea rooms which are now open again.
It is almost flat through the abbey grounds and estate of Dandy Hall as well as the lovely village of Thornton Steward.
Bring a snack and a packed lunch and be ready for a 10.30 start.

Fri May 24thCYCLINGThis is the route for the next U3A cycle on 24th May. Meeting at Bedale Church at 10 am. Up Burrill Rd. Right at first crossroads and left along Sinks Lane. 2nd left onto Moor End Lane and then No Man's Moor Lane. Left onto Marriforth Lane. Left at crossroads to Thirn and then Thornton Watllass. Bear left and down Burrill road back to Bedale. Straight over at White Bear junction to Aiskew and Tandem Café and our coffee stop. After that, along Back Lane and Cross the A6055 and along the cycle paths to Low St. Down to Leeming bar and straight over the roundabout to Leeming and Londonderry. Bear right over A1M Right along cycle path and left down Green Gate. Right at T junction and left along Westfield Lane. Right at T junction and along B6285 into Bedale. A little under 20 miles.

PLACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE TO JOIN THIS TRIP

Travel by Handley's coach for a cost of £10 to £15 dependent on numbers travelling
Depart from Bedale at 9.30am and return leaving the Project at 3.30 to 4.00pm
Visit whichever places you choose - Bishop's Palace, Faith museum, Spanish Art Gallery, Miner's Art Gallery. Cost of exhibitions vary from £6 upwards with an unlimited pass costing £30 which lasts for 1 year. I am assured that there is too much to see in one day. Add to this a number of good restaurants and coffee houses.

Meetingu3a National Festival 2024 - in the beautiful city of York.

The festival will run over 3 days and will be held at the University of York based around their exhibition centre and sports centre. Accommodation will be available in the student halls and more information on this will be available in the coming months.

A spectacular skip through 2000 years of history, myth and legend in 90 minutes!
Transport by Handley's coach. Take your own food with you.
Leave at 5.45pm and return at 11.30pm, depending on how long it takes the coach to leave the site.
