Activities

GENERAL MEETINGS are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month (except August & December) at 10:30 am (doors open at 10:00 am) at BECKENHAM METHODIST CHURCH, Bromley Road, Beckenham, BR3 5JE. A talk by a visiting speaker is given, followed by an opportunity for members to socialise (coffee/tea and biscuit).

If you are thinking of joining us, you are welcome to attend a General Meeting 'taster' as a visitor before deciding to join.

Member's entrance fee: £1.50 per meeting; Visitor's entrance fee: £2.50 per meeting.

NOTE THAT OUR MEETINGS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE AT PRESENT BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

NEWCOMERS MEETINGS: We hold a Newcomers Meeting twice a year to introduce new members to each other, to the Committee and to the Interest Group Leaders.

SOCIALS: We hold two Socials a year: a Summer Social in August and a Christmas Social in December; both are 'ticket-only' events open to members only. OUR SOCIALS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE IN 2020.

HISTORY MEETINGS: Meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month at 10:30 am (doors open at 10:00 am) at BECKENHAM METHODIST CHURCH (Wesley Room), Bromley Road, Beckenham. Speakers are invited to talk on topics of historical interest and visits are sometimes arranged. Annual subscription: £15.00. Visitors entrance fee: £3.00 per meeting. NOTE THAT OUR MEETINGS ARE NOT TAKING PLACE AT PRESENT BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC EXCEPT POSSIBLY ONLINE.

Speakers are invited to talk on all aspects of Beckenham and surrounding areas. Visits are sometimes arranged. Annual subscription: £15.00. Visitors entrance fee: £3.00 per meeting. NOTE THAT OUR MEETINGS ARE NOT TAKING PLACE AT PRESENT BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

EXCURSIONS
Visits are arranged to places of interest, museums, art galleries, etc within easy reach of Beckenham, using public transport or by private coach.

LUNCH CLUB
Visits to local restaurants in Beckenham and surrounding area twice monthly on Thursdays and Sundays.

PUB LUNCHES
Visits to local pubs in Beckenham and surrounding area once a month.

THEATRE
Group visits are arranged to West End and local theatres.

WALKING FOR FITNESS
Twice-weekly walks through Beckenham Place Park. There are also London Walks groups and a local Brisk Walking Group.
