Topic - Trad, Dixie and Rag
These Jazz genres reflect the early 20th C thru to the 2nd WW Jazz, and also revivals of those sounds. The Group brought along a good spread of music to listen to:
Aker Bilk - Creole Jazz
Monty Sunshine's Jazz Band - Riverboat Shuffle
Jelly Roll Morton's Doctor Jazz and also Perfect Rag, then My Little Dixie Home

Then to demonstrate age is not barrier - Dick Hyman on piano in his 80's and Ken Peplowski (60's) on clarinet with the World is Waiting for the Sunrise, recorded at the Kitano.

Then some early ones - Bix Beiderbecke - Royal Garden Blues (1927), Louis Armstrong Potato Head Blues (1927) and Jimmy Dorsey with St Louis Blues (1930).

The meeting highlight - a local swing band with our member David soloing Trombone, Just You, Just Me and Night Train!!!!
To finish Kenny Martyn Fidgety Feet and Sing Sing Sing, Sidney Bechet - Mood Indigo, Terry Lightfoot - King Kong, and Chris Barber - St George's Rag.
