Battle & District

Walking Group 2 (4-5 miles)

We walk on the third Monday of the month. The general plan is that we walk in the morning. Usually our walks have been between 4 and 6 miles but this can be flexible. We have walked at Polegate in the west, Rye Harbour in the east and many points in between so we have covered quite a wide area. We don't seem to have gone very far north! We ask for volunteers to lead our walks. It is best if two people organise the walk together and do a recce to make sure that the walk is suitable. It is always nice to know of a coffee stop at the end of the walk in case we need to be revived.

The purpose of these groups is to enjoy the beautiful countryside in this part of Sussex, to take some healthy exercise and indulge in some stimulating conversation in the process. All our walks take place throughout East Sussex.

Walking conditions may include muddy paths, stiles, livestock and other potential hazards, so suitable clothing, footwear and equipment and a reasonable level of fitness are necessary.

Dogs are not generally allowed on our walks.
