MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 2024-25

You can now pay by credit/debit card or PayPal via the 'Members' Portal'

Membership subscriptions fall due on the 1st April. Although costs are still on the rise, Battle & District U3A has enjoyed a steady increase in membership numbers which means we have avoided the necessity to increase subscriptions for 2024-5.

If you will not be renewing your membership, in order to prevent you receiving unnecessary reminders, please notify the membership secretary

Membership Fees for 2024-25

Full Membership: £12:00 per person.
Associate Member: £8:00 per person (who is a full member of another U3A).
TAM Magazine: £3:00 per household
Therefore a single full member = £12:00 or with magazine = £15:00
and a couple= £24:00 or with magazine = £27:00

Associate members should obtain their magazine from their primary U3A.

If you make the contribution to the "Third Age Matters" magazine you will be consenting to your name and address being supplied to the magazine publisher, which is solely for the purpose of magazine distribution.

Payment Methods

To reduce the use and the cost of the postal service we will acknowledge payments by email where possible.

Reference: Please use your surname (up to the tenth character only) followed by your postcode

After making the payment please email Membership Secretary stating : -

  • The member(s) for whom the payment is being made.
  • The amount paid.
  • The reference used on the bank transfer.

Please note on the email any changes to Gift Aid status, ‘phone No., address etc..

By Credit/Debit Card or PayPal :-

Renewing by Credit/Debit Card or from your PayPal Account must be done via the ‘Members Portal’, it cannot be done at a meeting. There is a link below, or follow the links from the Membership page.

To access your membership account, you will require your membership number, your name as on our records, your post code and email address. Enter your details on the portal screen and click ‘Confirm’. If the details you entered are wiped from the screen please check your data and re-enter. You will then be asked to enter your email address and create a password. This will allow you easier access in the future. If you have a problem, contact Membership Secretary. You will be shown the status of your membership and, if we are within the renewal window, you will be given the option to renew.

On the renewal screen you can alter your Gift Aid status. Remember, ticking the Gift Aid box can increase the value of your subscription to Battle & District U3A by up to 47%, courtesy of HMRC.

The Membership Classes are based on your subscription last year. Please contact me if you wish to change it. ‘Joint and TAM’ and Individual and TAM both include the distribution cost of Third Age Matters magazine so two members at one address, with the magazine, will be one ‘Joint’ and one ‘Joint and TAM’ member.

If another member shares your address, you will be given the option of including their subs in your payment.

Click ‘Make Payment’ and either log-in to your PayPal account or select ‘Pay by Debit or Credit Card’. After filling in your details, if you do not wish to open a PayPal account move the slider to the left.

After payment you will be sent a receipt from PayPal and an acknowledgement and membership card from Battle & District U3A. Any problems please let me know

By Cash or Cheque :-

For paying by cheque or cash a form is available here Remittance Advice. If you are unable to print it, enclose a note with your cheque or cash with the details requested on the form. Do not send cash in the post.

In addition, if there have been any changes to your personal details in the last membership year (address, telephone no., email address, etc) or you wish to change your Gift Aid status, please add that information to the renewal form or note.
