Wine Interest Group 4th Wednesday David

The group is now settled into its new home in Room3C at Barnstaple library and this seems to be a location which suits most people. We first met here on the 25th of July when the subject of our discussion and tasting was “Wines for Cheese”. We always try to keep the theme of each session around something current, for example the subject for May was “Rose Wines” as a preparation for summer consumption, where the most popular wine was a South African rose made from 100% Merlot. June’s subject was “Summer Wines” and the most popular wine was a sparkling red Lambrusco from Italy called Pruno Nero. The group has a flexible membership with currently around 12 members from 3 different U3As, with many attending almost all the sessions but others who attend when they can, which is fine. The cost of each session is flexible as the cost per person depends on the number of attendees However, even if we have a low attendance the cost per person will not exceed £10 per session.
