Painting And Drawing For Pleasure
Painting and Drawing for Pleasure
The Painting and Drawing group meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at Worsborough Bridge Social Club.
The Paining Group operates on a self-help basis, and caters for both experienced and beginner painters. No experience is necessary, only an interest in painting in water colour, oils, acrylics or pastels.
It will be necessary to invest in some basic equipment (a couple of brushes, some colours and some paper), and advice can be given as to further purchases. Existing members are on hand to welcome and help new members.
Occasional demonstrations by experienced artists are arranged. For example on 21 October 2014 we had a demonstration from Dave Woolass.
The Drawing group works in a more structured way (academic) visiting subjects such as travel posters, fashion etc. They recently undertook a larger project than normal using a picture with several attributes such as foliage, transport, buildings, people etc. The group visited each aspect to practise their skills and at the end each member produced a composite picture using all the skills acquired.
We are a mixed ability group with some very experienced drawers. These experienced members are willing to help and tutor the less experienced.
All you will need to bring to Worsbrough on alternate Tuesday mornings at 10.00am) is a pencil (or two), sketch book, and a willingness to have a go. A relatively relaxing two hours will follow.
Coordinator: Sue Cameron.
