Book Forum 2
We have two book groups meeting monthly to discuss books. There are two groups because when we first met well over ten years ago there were too many people for just one book group.
Book Forum Group 2
We meet on the first Tuesday of the month (unless there is a Bank Holiday on the day before when an alternative date may be found) at Birdwell Community Centre (S70 5TQ), at 11.30 am for one hour.
The list for the next quarter is published in The Buzz. We have to read the book in the month before we discuss it so the dates in the Buzz are for the discussion after reading the book. We try to read a wide variety of genre, including history, romance. classical literature, modern popular literature, non fiction, biographies, and books from across the world. We welcome suggestions from the group for our book list each quarter. This means that we can keep up to date with current thinking and developments. The discussions can be lively, thought provoking and capable of changing opinions! Members source their books from second hand sources, their local library, booksellers on the internet, book shops, Kindle or online through their local library.
Bu3a members who enjoy reading and sharing their thoughts about their reading but are unable to attend discussions in person can still be members of this group by submitting comments to the co-ordinator for feeding into the monthly meetings. A summary of group discussions could be provided if requested.
There are places in this group, if you are interested please telephone the co-ordinator
