A few members have requested of the Social Committee that they look at the possibility of running a Burns Night in January next year. The date would be the 25th January which is Rabbie's birthday.
Venue would be The Bluebell Function suite in Dodworth. It would be traditional fayre for the evening i.e Soup starter, main would be haggis-neeps and tatties, dessert would be Cranachan (raspberries oatmeal honey and a hint of whisky).
Tickets would be £25.00p which includes entertainment for the evening in the form of a Barn/Cheilid band from Doncaster called Brackenrigg. Their programme would be six dances a break then six dances. Ending with Auld Lang Syne.
Dress code would be black tie/suits.
There will be an interest sheet posted at August monthly meeting. For those members who can't or don't attend monthly meetings, please contact Margaret Saxton or John MacKinnon of the Social committee details on contact sheet.
The reason that this is being discussed many months in advance is because Burns Night is much celebrated and both the venue and the Band will require a deposit to hold the date. We are looking for between 100 - 120 people.
