Learn to read the rudiments of music, and play a brass instrument.
The Old Blowers group was established in November 2016. The idea of creating this group was to give members the chance to learn all about the rudiments of music from the absolute beginning. Furthermore, members were given the opportunity to learn to play a brass instrument. The ethos behind this was to follow up on Medical evidence which suggested that learning music or taking up a new language would help to stave off the onset of dementia! The group is 14 strong and are now playing music, an astonishing achievement in such a short space of time, plus public engagements!
We have now fulfilled a number of public engagements as the ensemble gets better and better! the next scheduled engagement is on November 17th at St Johns Church Mapplewell at 10am.( Coffee Morning). Followed by 24th of November at Dodworth,s Polly Fox community centre at 10am. Other engagements are as follows
