Nature Quest
NATURE QUEST
The group started in 2008 and meets monthly on the afternoon of the second Thursday in the month to visit local nature reserves, woodlands, parkland, rivers, canals, and lakes.
Visits last about 2 hours and we walk no more than 2 miles. We aim to identify whatever trees, flowers, fungi, butterflies, moths, insects and other wildlife we can find. The variety of habitats and species to be found within a few miles of Barnsley town centre has been a revelation.
During the winter months we arrange various illustrated talks at Burton Grange Community Centre. These indoor meetings are open to all U3A members.
Coordinator: Karen Barrass
Please see the on-line Buzz and Groups Calendar for a schedule of the latest meeting times, dates and locations.
New members are welcome, feel free to come along and give us a try without any commitment to join the Group.
Do you have a disability? Please contact the coordinator to discuss accessibility at various locations.
