Tap and Line Dancing
The group meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of each month, from 1:00pm to 3:30pm at Darton Parish Hall.
The coordinator, although not a qualified dance teacher, possesses adequate knowledge of both tap and line dancing to enable members to get a taste of the subject.
The dances are taught at an easy pace, the steps being constantly repeated and adapted, with the result that everyone, irrespective of ability, is able to partake in the routines. A good sense of rythmm is essential and it would be advisable to have a little experience of tap dancing in order to join the group.
The session is split into two halves i.e. tap dancing, followed by line dancing, with a short interval. Dancing is an enjoyable form of physical exercise and having to memorize steps and routines is a good brain workout.
Above all, it’s lots of fun!
