The reason is that We have recently become aware that Trades listed here may have been here for several years over which time they may have ceased to trade or sadly died. We do not wish to bother families of deceased tradesmen nor those no longer trading.

This register of tradesmen, craftsmen and companies used by Barnsley & District U3A members is provided as a service to other members on the basis of an information repository only. It is strongly emphasised that Barnsley & District U3A, as an organisation, does not endorse any of these tradesmen, but recognises that individual members have used their services successfully.
IMPORTANT: If you have difficulty contacting a trades or services person because they are no longer available, you are not happy with their work or service or you would like to add a new recommendation, please contact our webmaster so that we can keep our list up-to-date with current, good tradespeople and free of rogue traders, thank you. It takes one good report to add a tradesman, but similarly one bad or failed contact report to remove one.
Again we must remind you that these are recommendations from your fellow U3A members, and trades, services people listed here are in no way endorsed by the local or country-wide U3A, and may not be on any local authority trusted traders list.
Barnsley & District U3A cannot vouch for or be held responsible for their workmanship or trustworthiness, we can only pass on your recommendations and cautions.
If you encounter a rogue trader or service provider that has found their way onto our list it is very important that you let us know so that we can add a warning and remove them. Thank you.
