Maths Then And Now
With the current restrictions for Coronavirus, this group has been running online using Zoom. The group has been disbanded for the summer, but expressions of interest (non-committal) can be made with the coordinator for restart in the autumn. A new venue is to be determined once we can meet up again.
Maths Then and Now. Maths teaching has changed since most members were at school and probably parents and grandparents will have been confused by the methods and topics their (grand)children have tried to explain to them. Additionally, many new topics have been introduced which were not formerly required until higher maths, or at least the emphasis and introduction timing has changed. This group will look at these changes from Year 1 through to year 11, and then revise all topics now covered in secondary maths lessons up to GCSE Foundation or Higher level. There may also be a part with some more challenging conundrums in maths for those inclined to try them.
It will be coordinated by David Andrews who may be reached on 01709 368976 should you require more information. If you are interested, please contact the coordinator to confirm that and to indicate what you would wish to get from attending this group.
- Please see the Events for a schedule of the latest meeting times and dates.
