Photography 3
Convenor : | Peter Smith |
Meetings : | 2pm, Wednesdays, 1st and 3rd Wednesday every month |
There are currently four photography groups operating within Bearsden & Milngavie u3a each catering to a wide range of photographic skills and requirements as indicated below and the displayed images. The number of groups has grown in line with the numbers of members and the limitations on space for meetings.
This group is aimed at those wishing to expand their experience and knowledge of digital photography using DLSRs, although camera phones are also used as the best bit of kit is the one with you. Enthusiasm for photography is more important than the most recent piece of kit.
The group undertakes fortnightly topics, set by a member of the group, to cover the many genres of photography. Technical challenges and field trips are also occasionally undertaken.
The group used to meet at members’ homes to discuss and constructively critique the images submitted from the chosen topic/challenge to enable members to learn from each other. There are no invited speakers or competitions, just friendly chat about your images. Due to the pandemic all meetings became virtual using Zoom. Now however we meet at the Waitrose Community room with an ocassional zoom meeting.
Our very first topic was the Clyde Coastal Path, our last was Flat lay. With the UCI Championships recently held in Glasgow, here are also a few of our members images of that event.
