Walking: Mugdock Walkers
Convenor : | Janet Holland |
Meeting Times : | Monday AM, 2nd and 4th Mondays |
This walk is open to any member to turn up and take part.
Mugdock Walkers meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month for a circular walk in Mugdock Country Park, followed by coffee.
The group meets at 10 am outside Caulder’s Garden Centre, by the Mugdock Country Park Visitor Centre. Coffee afterwards is in the Garden Centre cafe at about 11.15.
The regular walk is two to two-and-a-half miles in just over an hour at a steady, brisk pace. Paths might be uneven and/or muddy, and sometimes we cross rough ground. Boots are a necessity and sticks recommended.
TRAVEL: To get there, see http://www.mugdock-country-park.org.uk/ourlocation.html
PLEASE NOTE: While U3A membership provides liability insurance for events, this is not personal insurance. We meet on the same basis as a group of friends walking together who all take responsibility for their own health and safety; you come along at your own risk.
"Above all, do not lose your desire to walk; every day I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it." (From Kierkegaard, via Doreen.)
