Drama/Play Reading

The Play Reading Group meets every third Friday in the month from 2.00 - 4.00pm at the Friends' Meeting House in Bakewell. Currently, the group is full but a waiting list can be opened (or a second group set up if someone will lead it) should anyone else wish to join.

As well as reading plays, the group occasionally give a performance of rehearsed readings at Thornhill House where two former members are resident.

This year our group has read: Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer, A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen and Daisy Pulls it Off by Denise Deegan and our next two readings will be: Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov and The Accrington Pals by Peter Whelan.
