Members of the group take turns at hosting meetings and this works well.
They study a different poet or topic each month by researching poems, reading one or two each and then discussing points which arise. There are some lively discussions and nobody ever falls asleep!
They have very eclectic tastes and one month they might do William Shakespeare followed by Pam Ayres the next! (Her latest book contains a wonderful poem about Hotter shoes with which many can identify!) They have found it interesting to discover that even 19th century poets and earlier write very amusing verse. I
