Bargany Estate visit 28th May 2018
This is a reminder that our next outing is next Monday (28th) to Bargany Estate, Dailly.
Bargany Estate is open to the public only during the month of May, when the rhododendrons and azaleas are a noted attraction. It also has a variety of mature trees. There is an honesty box, where visitors are asked to pay £2.
Please meet at 10 am at the Burns Centre car park to arrange car sharing. If anyone is planning to travel direct, please let me know. I can send detailed directions if required.
The car park is close to the pond with boat house on the map below. We do not have a guide for this walk, so I suggest we first explore the woodland around the pond and, if time allows, then walk to the walled garden, which is the rectangular area to the East of Bargany House.
The forecast for next Monday at the moment is very good, with possible temperatures of 23 degrees. There are no facilities at Bargany, so you may wish to bring tea/coffee etc. with you.
UPDATE - On one of the warmest days of the year so far, we enjoyed many fine trees and were treated to azaleas and rhododendrons in full bloom.
