AWAKE

CARAVAN

Day Trips, Short Breaks, Jouneys and Holidays - no caravan required!

Open to every member. Things are organised by member Roger Coates with a life time of independent worldwide travel. I organise transport and hotels at best location and value. My knowledge and/or research produces information sheets for you to use the time well. This is guided independence. We don’t go around as a group. You decide on the pace and places.” Caravan” has visited Sheffield, Bristol, Northern Italy, St Malo France, Drax Power Station and twelve other places. Not lost anybody yet.

Roger Coates (me) has organised some 25 trips at home and abroad for about ten years. I show here to all current members a selection of early day trips we did that could go again.

1. Full day cruise Manchester by ship canal to Liverpool on a Mersey Ferry. Kingfisher spotting and Scouse in the cafe. This is not a walk around day.

2. Bletchley Park WW2 code breaking base. Unknown for decades due to secrecy. Alan Turing sad saga and brilliance. A full day by coach. You will be amazed and might cry. This is a walk around day.

3. A one week canal journey self-drive, likely to Stratford or Oxford. No experience needed from you. Minimal walking unless you want it. There can be miles. If you can make a cup of tea, create, and serve skippers breakfast on deck because we have started, and fold a duvet you qualify. You can’t all have the bridal suite. Previous crews are asking. Ten max.

4. Norwich and Cromer 2 nights each, train travel. Mid July or Mid-September.

The last group away was Eastenders (London) last October. Got rave reviews. It is what you make it. Organised independence. I don’t lead you round, but you do get lots of info to fill every day. On the return train I was asked “what’s next”. There are some groupies who go everywhere but it is open to all and can be any size.

NOW. If you fancy Norwich talk to me asap and I will start a list without obligation at this stage. For the one-day trips and canal I need your help to get some early idea of interest without obligation to put out details with costings in the April newsletter. Please contact me soon on the bird.

I will always consider new ideas or repeats e.g. canal week 3 times, Edinburgh Fringe twice, St Ives by sleeper train twice, France twice. Talk to me 657105 07941222499. Caravan is for all members of AWAKE.
