AWAKE

My Generation

“Talkin’ ‘bout my Generation” Teenage memories of the twentieth century!

Now it’s your turn. What was your life like when you were 13 – 14?

Some months ago I asked members if they would like to/ be willing to share their teenage experiences for our own review of life mid-century. I have received a handful of valuable contributions from the 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s. I am sure there are more stories out there! If you would like to share your memories with us (either anonymously or otherwise) we could produce our own AWAKE U3A booklet of teenage memories of the twentieth century.

A number of people have said they are not used to writing and wouldn’t know where to start. Strongest memories are a good prompt which can link to things you think you have forgotten but if you’d rather talk to somebody that can also be arranged – listen for an announcement and look out for a signing sheet at the September monthly meeting.

We each have a story to tell. If you wish to submit an article, please contact Sue Chambers by clicking the on the "bird"
